Are you Ready for Retirement?

If you're an individual in the work force; a good retirement plan is one that was put in place when you first started working. But, if you're like many Americans, this may not have happened and now you're looking for ways to catch up, so you can comfortably retire by 70.

If you haven't visited the Social Security website lately, you should. Go to the Retirement Estimator which will give you an estimate of what you can expect from Social Security upon retirement. If SS is the only income stream, it may be a tough number on which to support a comfortable lifestyle. Those who have paid the maximum to social security can assume they'll receive about $30,000.00/year.

So, with all this in mind, it may be time to put an investment plan in action and one option could be to invest in rental properties. If purchased correctly, rental properties can generate additional income, they enjoy depreciation in the form of a tax shelter, and they build equity over the long run!
